On August 21, Subterráneos de Buenos Aires inaugurated the new Sarmiento access of the Obelisco Node, which allows for transfers among lines B, C and D. This work was designed by AC&A in conjunction with the firm ATEC and the architects studio ASZ (Antonini Schon Zemborain) of Buenos Aires.

The main objective of the project was the preparation of all tender documentation of the civil works for the access, circulation and evacuation of the Stations “9 Julio” (Line D) and “Diagonal Norte” (Line C), belonging to Phase 1 of the Plan of Accessibility, Circulation and Evacuation (PACE) of the Buenos Aires Subway Network, located specifically at the intersections of the avenues 9 de Julio, Diagonal Roque Sáenz Peña, Corrientes, Carlos Pellegrini and Sarmiento Street.

These works are of special relevance to allow one of the nodes with the highest flow of passengers of the entire underground network to be 100% accessible for people with reduced mobility, allowing for better and more comfortable transfers between the lines and, finally, complying with international evacuation standards for subway stations.
