With more than two decades of professional experience, AC&A continues to face new challenges and consolidate its international presence. On this occasion, the company was called to carry out the Project Management and Inspection of the work of a new bridge located in the town of Piaye, to the south of the island of Saint Lucia.

This project is located on the only ring road that links the entire island, which is why it is a priority project for the country. This area has a town of five thousand people with an outstanding cultural identity.

The purpose of the new construction is to replace the bridge that was used for the past twelve years and consisted of a temporary one-lane bridge that generated unsafe driving conditions, delays, and conflicts in traffic. This work provides a better quality of life both for the locals and for passers-by.

In relation to its technical qualities, it should be noted that this new bridge is a composite bridge: it is made up of a steel structure and a reinforced concrete deck, linked by shear connectors. The work includes the protection of abutments and slopes, as well as the installation of a Bailey-type temporary bypass bridge, which allowed for the demolition of the current bridge and the construction of the new one in the same place. The accesses to the bridge will also be built, with new pavement, signage and altimetry adjustment.

AC&A is in charge of the Project Management and the technical, environmental and social inspection of the work, which is being financed with funds from the World Bank in a loan specifically designed to strengthen the resilience of the infrastructure in the face of Climate
Change.

With an always innovative outlook, AC&A continues to work to provide solutions and face new professional challenges both nationally and internationally.
